Just played about 8 matches today...

There are around 200 players in the queues...

That is about 60 - 75 Clanners - mostly premades

And about 130 Inner Sphere - almost entirely pugs.

You can well imagine the results.

Truth be told, I can only take so much abuse in one day.

Perhaps we could try altering the drop weight, bump the Inner Sphere up to 300, if the code will not support additional mechs.

Pugs are going to need something to try to bring CW into balance.

Sounds like you need to organize. The only reason your at a disadvantage is because you choose to be. Stop abusing yourself.

Well that's true - but the organized teams are absent today - and without these pugs there is no game. So, I guess, like it or not, pugs must be included. People are going to have to accept that, absent another solution.

People should accept that they will do less well in disorganized, fractured groups than against premades. It's a team game.

Yes, attracting the casual player is important, but to act like 12 soloists should have handicaps giving them parity against a premade of 12 is both untenable and silly really.

To attract soloists and tiny group players (and mind you I solo CW, I do small group CW and I do large group CW -- same in the public queues), I would argue that there needs a mode or modes where a soloist can have greater impact.

Say a 4v4 reconaissance phase that impacts the 12v12 assault phases we currently have, an 8v8 raid phase that does the same etc.

That gives soloists and small groups a way to enjoy and additionally, impact Community warfare without creating ridiculous conditions to hamper larger groups trying to take the planets.

Maybe 4v4 victories during the recon phase, earn a side some extra "satellite footage" during subsequent fights over the territorry...perhaps raids can reduce the # of active turrets for a defender or push back attacker DZ's further etc.

I have won many a CW game playing as a PUG and a number of them have been against premades, though Clan premades due to the Stormcrow, Hellbringer and Madcat are tougher to do well against as an IS pilot.

Battles are won and lost.

The militia is always less likely to win vs a troop. The troop's been trained and know each other.

The militia is a ragtag group who showed up in response to something. They don't necessarily know each other, and their individual talents are wildly different.

Militia can win, but it's rare.

Those are your words about not including Pugs. I am all about including them. PUG = Pick Up Group. You can still form a group and use voip, even drop with the same people over and over again and still be a PUG. How you PUG is your choice. I am simply suggesting that you make choices that will benefit you, versus making choices that will often result in a headache.

So much this.

Let's see, OP, you're FRR if I recall correctly.

That took me less than 3 minutes.
Would you like for me to Google the site to download TeamSpeak from for you?

CW at the 12-man level is always the equivalent of group public queue.

Note that they don't allow single players in group public queue because it's target practice time for groups when they do.

If you're seeing all-PUGs, the answer is "nobody's playing, they're just getting farmed" : and don't even get near the resulting mess unless you expect a near-total rate of failure. I won't go into a Clan defense fight seriously for anything less than having a faction group along for the ride. IS defenses, the odds are much, MUCH higher that at least part of the force will be a group- or become one, since they can faction group.

Maybe Its cause I am running clan, but the vast majority of games in CW against 10-12mans are fun. Sure, you do run into the occasional buzzsaw, but the majority of the fights stay with 5 kills or so.

There are some pretty basic strats for maps at this point not hard to use them.

Here's a sample game I played today: http://i.imgur.com/kR7Hivh.jpg

Would you call this a "premade" if you saw this because of a few shared tags? I queue solo and frequently. About 80% of the time I run into an IS group of 8-12. The reason you do not play with the groups on your faction is for several reasons but the main reasons are that they are full and you are out of sync with their queue.

Despite being a largely solo game there was a lot of discussion in chat about where to go, when to push, who should be taking the lead, who should be popping up, etc. This was not run solely by one player, there was at least 6 of us actively contributing in chat. Just because you aren't in an organized group, doesn't mean you can't play like one.

Some days I will chain queue and constantly play with the same 6-10 other people because we drop back to back. If you get a queue with a bad group, consider changing planets or take a short break.

Sometimes you'll have a good day and have good players(pugs or otherwise) and other days you'll have tough opponents. If you insist on playing solo(like I do) you'll have to take loss streaks in stride.

Oddly enough I ran into an FRR 12 man, a Kurita 12 man (CI) and a Markik 12 man in like 5 matches this morning as clan.

....trust me its not all IS pugs.

PHL sports the LRM formation, they do a pretty good job, usually takes them three pushes with that formation, nothing a organized 12-man can't handle, little ruff for pugs though.

Nope, 5/6 games wins with pugs teams. At most I think we had two dudes from one unit.

That one game they DID win was that they came in last minute and we didn't have the weight left to stop 12 100 tonners for the Omega and it STILL took them till time ran out. Again, pure pug.

Of course I saw CI doing LRM this morning......that gave me a pause.

Exactly this.
It is getting rather tiring to keep seeing the same statements over and over and over again. With the people making them excluding THEMSELVES-nobody else is. Same arguments, same "points" over and over. Yet ther problem is being caused by self exclusion.
